February 21 produce baskets

Apple blossoms on the tree in front of my house (a little late to be flowering...)

Good Morning,
I hope everyone stayed dry this weekend. We have a GREAT box for you today, filled with so many springtime vegetables.  Fruit is never great this time of year, so we apologize if we’re getting repetitive. That being said, the apples and oranges are quite sweet.  Have a great week!

lavender and sage bundle-great to make hot tea with. Boil water and let it steep for a couple of minutes
fennel-sauté with some olive oil and butter, use in soups and stews or gratins
black kale-chop raw into salads, or sauté as a side dish. It benefits from being cooked a little longer than most greens
nantes carrots
red beets
celery root-peel like a carrot, and eat it raw in a salad or sautéed like potatoes
savoy cabbage
red leaf lettuce
leeks
mixed bag of mushrooms
artichokes-first of the season!!! lots of butter and mayo please.
broccoli
snap peas
navel oranges
Fuji Apples

Happy cooking,
The Auntie Ems Produce Team
