how to cook and shell fava beans

shell the beans. the leftover shells should go into your compost.
bring a pot of salted water to a boil. drop the fava beans in the water and boil for 1 minute. strain the beans and rinse with cold water. with your fingernail or a knife, slit the beans and take off the skin. the favas are now ready to use in any recipe!
